Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW) has delivered its 100th converted cargo aircraft to a customer. The converted model is an Airbus A330 P2F ("Passenger to Freighter"), which was converted at an EFW facility in China. The conversion program, which began in 2017, was developed in cooperation between ST Engineering and Airbus and offers customers the opportunity to convert passenger aircraft of various Airbus models for cargo transport.

Since the start of the program, a total of 49 A330s, 47 A321s and four A320s have been converted into cargo aircraft. Elbe Flugzeugwerke holds the type certifications and manages the entire conversion program. In addition to the A330, the models offered also include the A321 P2F and A320 P2F variants, which became available in 2020 and 2022 respectively.

The P2F market is currently growing strongly as the demand for freight capacity continues to rise. Especially after the restrictions on passenger traffic caused by the Corona pandemic in 2020/21, interest in freight solutions grew considerably.
