A total of 20 trees were planted by the airport, the municipality of Feldkirchen, various entrepreneurs and the eco-fit team of the environmental agency in Graz Airport. It is said to be a large-crowned specimen.

"Trees are retreats for many different animal species and have a positive influence on our (micro)climate," explains Wolfgang Grimus, Managing Director of Graz Airport. "That's why we were very happy to take part in the campaign by the environmental agency in Graz, in which we provide land for a total of 20 trees or plant Hungarian oaks ourselves together with ÖKOPROFIT."

"Graz Airport is the owner of the largest extensively cultivated meadow area in the near and far vicinity," informs Jürgen Loeschnig, Managing Director of Graz Airport. “The upgrading of this green area, e.g. B. through neophyte displacement or today's tree planting campaign, is a major concern for us".

A total of 20 five-meter-high, large-crowned trees were planted by 17 companies, the municipality of Feldkirchen and the Ökprofit team from the Graz environmental agency. The trees were supplied by the Ledolter tree nursery, which also took part in the campaign with two honey locust trees. All tree sponsors are visible on a board in the airport entrance area. A tree with a large crown binds about 10 kg of carbon dioxide per year during its lifetime.
