The year 2019 will go down in the history of LOT Polish Airlines as a record year. The airline cracked the 10 million mark in passengers carried for the first time.

The carrier puts last year's financial figures on the table. Despite initial difficulties - the 737 MAX fleet had to be grounded and the 787 engines caused problems - a turnover of almost 1,63 billion euros was achieved - a significant increase of 19 percent compared to 2018. In addition, the largest Polish airline recorded one operating profit of approx. 25,1 million euros.

“Last year was the fourth in a row that we were able to close with a profit. As a result, we were able to expand our range of flights and, for the first time, even welcomed more than 10 million passengers on board our aircraft. These results show that our profitable growth strategy, which we launched in 2016, was the right one. Therefore, I would like to expressly thank our LOT Polish Airlines team for their hard work and our passengers for their trust and loyalty, ”said LOT boss Rafal Milczarski.

He also knows that the current year cannot even be compared with the previous year. "2020 is probably the most difficult year in the history of aviation, and we are strictly focusing on optimizations in all areas in order to master this period", continues Milczarski.
