UK: Easyjet announces 12 domestic routes
Due to ongoing travel restrictions and the UK government's complicated traffic light system, Easyjet will shift capacity from the UK to Germany. The carrier has now announced that it will restructure its UK route network and operate 12 new domestic routes in the summer. The airline will begin operating flights from Belfast City to London Gatwick for the first time and return to East Midlands and Leeds Bradford. Connections from Belfast to Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh and Glasgow will be increased by 60.000 seats. The airline is expanding its domestic network to include three new UK airports, which include first-time flights from Belfast City Airport to London Gatwick. Easyjet will also return to Leeds Bradford and East Midlands airports with new flights to and from Belfast International Airport, routes previously served by Aer Lingus Regional operated by Stobart Air and providing an important link between the regions. “We know our customers can’t wait to meet up with friends and family or explore the UK, so these additional new routes today should prove popular and further strengthen our UK domestic network, offering customers even more choice.
