
Nuremberg celebrates the opening of the Ryanair base
On Tuesday, low-cost airline Ryanair officially opened the Nuremberg base operated by its subsidiary Malta Air. In the 2022 summer flight schedule, the carrier will offer 29 routes from the Franconian airport. These include 15 new destinations. During the height of summer, the low-cost airline will operate around 90 flights per week from this airport. New destinations include Banja Luka, Bologna, Cagliari, Chania, Dublin, Faro, Girona, Ibiza, Lamezia, Madeira, Ponta Delgada, Sofia, Tallinn, Valencia and Venice. “Ryanair’s commitment to Nuremberg will significantly enrich our route network: both private and business travelers benefit from the balanced mix of tourist destinations around the Mediterranean, attractive city connections and destinations for family visits in Central and Eastern Europe. But it is also good news for Nuremberg's hotel, catering and retail sectors, as many travellers from abroad will come to us in the Nuremberg metropolitan region on board Ryanair and take advantage of our attractive tourist offer," explains airport boss Michael Hupe. The opening of this base and the introduction of these new routes from Nuremberg underlines our commitment to better connectivity, more travel options and more inbound traffic to the region, as Ryanair now offers 28 percent more capacity than before the pandemic.
