Vienna: Blaguss pauses Air-Liner-Bus indefinitely
The Vienna Airport Lines, operated by Österreichische Postbus AG, are now back on all routes. The City Airport Train is also running as scheduled again. But what about the Air-Liner bus offered by Blaguss Reisen? Before the corona pandemic, this shuttle bus ran between Vienna Airport and the Erdberg bus station, which is located opposite the U3 station of the same name. Due to a rapid drop in passenger numbers, operations were temporarily suspended at about the same time as the Vienna Airport Lines and the City Airport Train. According to a spokeswoman for Blaguss Reisen, this will remain the case. She explained to Aviation.Direct that there are currently no plans to reactivate the Air-Liner. This means that this bus connection to Vienna will be paused for a period of time that cannot currently be estimated. In principle, there are also other long-distance buses that run between the city of Vienna and the airport. These include buses from Regiojet, Slovak Lines and international Flixbus routes. However, these are not allowed to transport passengers within Austria. In concrete terms, this means that, for example, passengers travelling in the direction of Bratislava are only allowed to board at the airport, but not to disembark. In the opposite direction, passengers are allowed to disembark at the airport, but not to board if their destination is within Austria.
