Climate ticket: City Airport Train now grants a 50 percent discount

The Austrian climate ticket is not valid on the City Airport Train, which runs between Vienna Airport and Wien-Mitte Landstrasse station. From June 1, 2022, you should at least get a 50 percent discount. The private railway is a joint venture between the Austrian Federal Railways and Vienna Airport AG. It is not a member of the Eastern Region Transport Association and for this reason, among others, is not included in the climate ticket. The domestic long-distance bus services operated by Blaguss Reisen and Dr. Richard under the Flixbus brand are also not part of the climate ticket. "With this offer, the City Airport Train is not only making a contribution to sustainable travel, but is also responding to the strong demand from its passengers. We are proud to be able to support climate protection in this way and to offer this reduction to all holders of the climate ticket," say CAT managing directors Christoph Korherr and Michael Forstner. In addition, holders of the Wiener Linien annual ticket and the ÖBB Advantage Card receive a 50 percent discount on the CAT. During the ticket inspection, the two previously mentioned cards or the climate ticket must be presented together with the City Airport Train ticket.
