The airline Icelandair had around 2023 million passengers on board in the recently completed year 4,3. This meant an increase of 17 percent compared to the same period last year, but was not yet able to quite reach the volume of 2019.

However, company boss Bogi Nils Bogason is confident that in the current year 2024 it will be possible to exceed the transport performance that was achieved before the corona pandemic. New destinations and the progress of the ambitious fleet renewal should also contribute to this. This year the route network is expected to have 50 destinations.
