Turkish Airlines will start flights between Izmir and Belgrade from February 16, 2023.
For the first time, the two cities will be served directly in scheduled services. Flights will operate twice a week, with tickets expected to go on sale by the end of the year. The new flight connection is Turkish Airlines' third from the Serbian capital alongside Istanbul and Ankara, with the latter being operated by the company's own low-cost airline, Anadolujet. In addition to the new route, the Turkish carrier will increase frequencies between Ankara and Belgrade from two to four flights per week from December 2, 2022, online aviation portal Ex-Yu-Aviation reports. In the future, further Turkey routes are to follow in cooperation with Air Serbia.
