Ryanair expects more profit

Europe's largest low-cost airline Ryanair is expecting a higher annual profit than before after a surprisingly good third quarter. After taxes and adjusted for special effects, the company announced that it would now be making a profit of 1,325 to 1,425 billion euros. Ryanair had previously expected a profit of 1,00 to 1,20 billion euros. This is assuming that there are no unforeseeable negative events. The company continues to expect 168 million passengers for the financial year ending in March. A profit of just under 200 million euros is likely to have been made in the third quarter, it said. For the first time in three years, customers have been found to have had a strong pent-up demand during the holiday season. In addition, there were no adverse effects from Corona or the war in Ukraine. Due to calendar effects and the recent slowdown in Great Britain and Ireland, Ryanair is expecting a loss in the fourth quarter.

Among other things, it says: "To reduce the cost of fuel consumption and associated greenhouse gas emissions, we have introduced efficiency improvements in flight operations through our global FedEx Fuel Sense program and are replacing many of our older aircraft with more fuel-efficient models."
