Air France gets another 1,4 billion euros from the state
The EU Commission has approved 1,4 billion euros in state compensation for the airline Air France. This is intended to cover the period between March and June 2020 and can take the form of grants, equity aid or liquidity aid. The current approval follows state aid of seven billion euros released on May 4, 2020. Brussels also approved a recapitalization of four billion euros on April 6, 2021. The European Commission said the compensation was in line with EU state aid rules, which allow member states to compensate companies or sectors for damage caused by exceptional events such as the COVID-19 outbreak.
