"This change is an important step to strengthen our negotiating position," said Stefan Herth, President of the Cockpit Association. "We can speak with one voice in collective bargaining because all negotiations for all AOCs within an airline group are always conducted by the same people. Everyone involved will benefit from this. The VC will now effectively counteract the internal tariff competition within a group that is created by the establishment of ever new flight operations. No matter how many flight operations a group divides us into AOCs: the pilots stand together and negotiate together."
