Comiso: Aeroitalia flies to Bologna instead of Forli

Volotea and Eurowings officially start sales cooperation

Some time ago, the airlines Volotea and Eurowings announced a mutual distribution partnership. This has now been officially sealed, as the letter of intent signed in March 2023 has now been followed by a formal cooperation agreement. A total of 150 routes are affected, which will be made bookable with the other airline in the future. There are 104 routes from Eurowings and 46 from Volotea. According to the joint statement, there will be no overlap in the route network, so that the selection on both homepages will grow. "We are very pleased to make our partnership with Eurowings official and to expand our reach to the German market - an important step in relation to our larger growth plans in Europe. This agreement is an exciting opportunity for Volotea to offer even more customers low-cost non-stop flights so that they can discover new destinations in our extensive route network," explains Carlos Muñoz, founder and CEO of Volotea. With regard to the cooperation with the Lufthansa subsidiary, the Spanish low-cost airline is also launching eight new routes from Germany from the end of May or the beginning of October. In the future, flights to France and Italy will be offered from Berlin, Düsseldorf, Hamburg and Stuttgart. In the future, Volotea will also be able to reach Bordeaux, Lyon, Nantes, Florence and Verona non-stop from Germany. "The partnership with Volotea is another milestone on our way to strengthening the 'Euro' in the Eurowings brand name.
