Sarajevo Airport: decrease in passenger numbers

Sarajevo Airport is no longer the base of the airline Wizz Air after Wizz Air ended this cooperation. However, the airport was not able to fully make up for this loss, as can be seen from the decline in passenger numbers. The termination of the partnership between Wizz Air and Sarajevo Airport is not going quite as hoped. The airport has only seen a decline in passenger numbers for the last three months, as the portal Ex Yu Aviation News confirms. Although the airport was able to handle almost 134.000 passengers, which also represents an increase compared to 2019, these figures cannot keep up with the previous year, with a decrease of 13,5 percent. In comparison, the general passenger numbers for the first half of the year also show a decrease: the airline was able to count 533.741 passengers, which represents a decrease of 4,5 percent compared to the previous year.

These are the biggest annoyances of passengers

Flying is one of the fastest and most convenient ways to travel long distances. Millions of people travel by air every year, whether for business reasons or for a well-earned vacation. Unfortunately, flights are not always stress-free and pleasant. Reason enough to look at this topic in more detail. When it comes to the topic of "unfriendly staff", it should also be remembered that they can be at their wits' end because of very specific passengers. We are talking about travelers who think they have to vent their anger, which has been building up for weeks or even months, on handling or airline staff, or who immediately do the "unruly PAX" and get up to all sorts of mischief. There is actually nothing so crazy that some passenger hasn't tried at some point. This primarily means massively disruptive or aggressive behavior. This can subsequently become a safety problem and go so far that the captain decides to make a stopover so that the troublemaker can be taken away by the police. Delays and flight cancellations One of the most common annoyances for air passengers is delays and flight cancellations. Airlines sometimes face unforeseen circumstances, such as technical problems, bad weather or air traffic controller strikes. These unavoidable events can lead to significant delays or even cancellation of flights. The resulting inconveniences, such as missed connecting flights, lost hotel bookings and wasted valuable time, can significantly affect the mood of air passengers. Overbookings Overbookings are another major annoyance for air passengers. Airlines often practice overbooking flights to avoid empty seats and maximize their profits. However, this can lead to problems,

Cologne/Bonn: New duty-free shop in Terminal 2

Anyone starting their vacation from Terminal 2 at Cologne Bonn Airport no longer has to choose between shopping and the waiting area before their flight. A new duty-free/duty-paid area has now been opened by Setur on around 600 square meters. The open-plan marketplace invites you to linger with its greenery and comfortable seating. Smaller events can also take place in this area, providing variety and entertainment. The redesign of the duty-free areas at Cologne Bonn Airport is now complete. "This is exactly how the travel experience should begin for our passengers. Our partner Setur has implemented our concept excellently in the design of the shop, which looks at the departure area as a whole and no longer separates individual functional areas," says Thilo Schmid, Chairman of the Management Board of Flughafen Köln/Bonn GmbH. Managing Director Torsten Schrank adds: "Setur is taking our airport another step towards the perfect balance between shopping experience and quality of stay. We want to hold our first events here soon.” Setur CEO Ahmet Sönmez explains: “We are proud to have opened our first duty-free shops in Europe at Cologne Bonn Airport. We would like to thank the entire team for the successful implementation and look forward to a successful partnership.” Setur opened its new retail space in Terminal 1 at the beginning of June. Setur is also focusing on regional products in its new shops at Cologne/Bonn Airport, covering a total of 1.500 square metres, and is taking up the Rhineland mentality. At the same time, the range offers a large selection of international branded goods. The innovative concept and the attractive architecture combine the aspects of modern, diverse and customer-oriented and also puts the topic of sustainability in the spotlight.
