Norwegian considering B737 Max 10 launch
The low-cost airline Norwegian Air Shuttle is once again considering adding the Boeing 737 Max 10 to its fleet. Up to 30 options that are considered for the smaller Max 8 variant could be converted. As part of the presentation of the latest quarterly figures, company boss Geir Karlsen explained that the company has now come to the conclusion that the Boeing 737 Max 10 may be a better fit for Norwegian than previously thought. The company is currently waiting for the delivery of 50 B737 Max 8s and has options for up to 30 more. In this context, Karlsen said that the purchase rights could at least partially be converted to the longer variant. The company currently has 16 B737 Max 8s in its fleet and expects to be able to take on numerous more units this year and next year. A long time ago, under the old management, Norwegian was very enthusiastic about the Max 10. This changed, however, as Karlsen also said that six months ago they had come to the conclusion that this model was unsuitable for the route portfolio. Now they have received further information and this seems to have convinced Norwegian Air Shuttle. The company boss confirmed that they are "seriously considering" adding the Boeing 737 Max 10 to the fleet. He specified that this model would have around 225 seats. The decisive factor for or against an order is likely to be the purchase price, which can be negotiated with Boeing.
