Parents must now apply for regular passports for their children, which are associated with higher fees, if they want to travel to countries for which a passport is required. If accepted, the child's identity card may also be sufficient in some circumstances, especially within the EU. Important: Regardless of the age of the child, they need their own passport and/or identity card. Simply presenting the parents' documents is not sufficient. Dateline: United delay ruins double New Year's Eve celebration

On New Year's Eve, many passengers were disappointed on United Airlines flight UA200, which flew from Guam to Honolulu. Many travelers had booked this flight specifically to experience the New Year twice. But a significant delay spoiled the fun. The only reason it would have been possible to welcome the New Year twice on this flight was because the time zone changes during the trip. But that didn't happen, because the Boeing 777-300ER with the registration N2747U took off six hours late. By the time it landed, January 1, 2024 had already arrived. Some passengers are ranting on social media that they want their money back, because they only booked this flight because of the special feature that the different time zones allow you to experience New Year's Eve twice. The carrier apologizes for the delay and refers to compensation options under US law. Things went better for passengers on flights NH106 (All Nippon Airways) and CX871 (Cathay Pacific). Both planes took off on December 31, 2023, shortly before the turn of the year, crossed the date line and landed at their destination well before midnight, but again on December 31, 2023. This meant that the passengers were able to experience New Year's Eve twice because they crossed the date line. However, the travelers on UA200 were rather disappointed by United Airlines.

The Airbus A220-100 with the registration N108DQ was de-iced at the southern end of the western runway. The man was able to "make his way" there on foot. For reasons completely unknown, he was able to climb into one of the two engines. These were said to not be in operation at the time due to de-icing work. Airport workers and police then found the man unconscious in one of the engines of the Airbus A220-100 in question. At this point, they were still out of service. First aid measures were immediately initiated, but all efforts were in vain. The "unruly PAX" died at the scene of the accident. According to the police, the emergency doctor confirmed death.
