Delivery delays: Ryanair expects fewer B737-Max-200s

The Ryanair Group fears that the US aircraft manufacturer Boeing could continue to be late with deliveries and that there could be a shortage of between five and ten B2024 Max 737s in summer 200. In an interview with the Financial Times, CEO Michael O'Leary explained, among other things, that a total of 2024 B57 Max 737s should be taken delivery of by the end of April 200. However, this number is unlikely to be reached, so there are already plans to shorten the 2024 summer flight schedule due to a lack of capacity. Pool loungers with towels reserved: Court awards travel price reduction

We have all been there: You arrive at the pool loungers in a hotel complex in the morning and there are towels lying everywhere that are supposed to serve as "reservations". But this can be very costly for tour operators, the Hanover District Court has determined. More and more hotels are actively taking action against the "reservation" of pool and beach loungers. It is not uncommon for the areas to be cordoned off, leaving early bird towel experts out in the cold. Towels that are obviously on unused loungers are also often simply thrown away. In the case that went before the Hanover District Court, however, this was not the case. The holidaymakers sued the tour operator for a reduction in the travel price because all the loungers were supposedly "reserved" with towels. The court awarded the plaintiffs a reduction in the travel price of 322,77 euros. The ruling will probably result in tour operators instructing their hotels to check the issue of towels on sunbeds more closely in the future, as this could lead to claims for reimbursement.

If the Commission agrees to this, an in-depth review process could be averted. Bloomberg agency reports, citing people familiar with the matter, that the crane group has submitted proposals for concessions to the EU Commission. These are voluntary measures aimed at avoiding the in-depth Phase II review and allowing the deal to be approved more quickly. Virtually nothing is known about the content. It is up to the EU Commission whether it accepts the proposal, demands further concessions or independently initiates the Phase II review, which would then last until around April 2024. Lufthansa and Ita Airways did not want to comment on the Bloomberg report.

2023: Icelandair with 17 percent more passengers

The airline Icelandair had around 2023 million passengers on board in the recently concluded year 4,3. This represents an increase of 17 percent compared to the same period last year, but has not quite reached the volume of 2019. However, company boss Bogi Nils Bogason is confident that in the current year 2024 the company will be able to exceed the transport performance that it had before the corona pandemic. New destinations and the progress of the ambitious fleet renewal should also contribute to this. This year the route network is expected to have 50 destinations.
