No fuel for Cubana in Argentina

Cubana has canceled its flights to Argentina after fuel suppliers refused to offer services to the airline. The state-owned airline had to cancel flights CU360 from Havana to Buenos Aires and CU361 from Buenos Aires to Cayo Coco, scheduled for April 23 and 24, 2024. The fuel suppliers cited a trade embargo imposed by the United States against the Cuban regime under Miguel Díaz-Canel. This also meant that other airlines contracted by Cubana de Aviación could not transport the affected passengers. At the same time, the government of Argentina, under President Javier Milei, has problems with Venezuela for its involvement in the dismantling of a former Emtrasur Cargo B747-300M. Australia: Flair wet lease puts the brakes on expansion plans

Bonza's plans to convert two short-term wet leases into long-term dry leases have hit problems. One of the B737 Max 8 jets has returned to Canada, while the other has been parked at Sunshine Coast Airport since early March awaiting approval from the Australian Civil Aviation Authority (CASA). Bonza had operated the B737 Max 8s, registered C-FLHI and C-FLKC, from Flair Airlines on a wet lease basis through the summer of 2023/24. In February, Bonza agreed to convert the wet leases into dry leases. The aim was to replace Flair flight crews with Bonza crews and keep the aircraft in Australia. The delays have resulted in Bonza having to reduce flights, mainly from Gold Coast Coolangatta. The frequency adjustments affect various routes such as Gold Coast - Cairns and Gold Coast - Melbourne.

Schauinsland travel with new airline booking tool

Schauinsland-reisen is the first tour operator to use the new Calisto Ancillary platform from IT service provider Airxelerate. This enables travel agencies to integrate additional services such as seat reservations, additional baggage or meals into bookings directly via their reservation system. After an extensive test phase, sales manager Detlef Schroer is impressed with the results. The implementation of the new booking platform Calisto | Ancillary promises to significantly simplify the booking process for travel agencies and customers. Previously, additional services had to be booked separately, but this is now a thing of the past. Customers can now reserve special seats or register additional baggage within a booking. The new booking tool is already available for bookings with SunExpress and Air Cairo flights and will also be used by other airlines such as Sundair and Eurowings in the future. The platform, presented by Airxelerate at the end of January, was implemented by Schauinsland-Reisen after a successful test phase. Detlef Schroer emphasizes that not only will the service for customers and travel agencies be improved, but the earning potential of sales partners will also increase, as additional flight services booked via the new tool will also be commission-based.
