AUA announces Ivalo flights

Austrian Airlines will reach a significant milestone in 2024: the introduction of the Boeing 787 has begun. The fleet will be expanded by two long-haul aircraft, which were already used in the summer flight schedule and will also create additional capacity for the winter flight schedule. Passengers can look forward to new destinations and increased frequencies. One of the most exciting news is the introduction of Ivalo in Finnish Lapland as a new winter destination. The idyllic village offers travelers numerous winter sports opportunities and impressive nature experiences, such as cross-country ski trails, sleigh rides and the observation of the Northern Lights. Ivalo is served every Saturday from January to March. In addition to Ivalo, the destinations Boston, Bremen and Tbilisi, which were newly added to the summer flight schedule, will also remain in the program. Austrian Airlines is also increasing flight frequencies on popular long-haul routes. Capacity on flights to Bangkok will be increased to up to 13 per week, and connections to New York, Montreal and the Maldives will also be increased to five flights per week. The new connection to Boston will be served up to three times a week. Michael Trestl, CCO of Austrian Airlines, emphasises: "Our aim is to continuously expand our route network in order to be able to offer our guests a broad portfolio of destinations. We have succeeded in doing this in the winter flight schedule by adding Ivalo and continuing the new summer destinations in the winter as well."
