This event was a must-have-been-there event for all connoisseurs of fine cuisine and elegant spirits. The event took place in the magnificent ballrooms of the Vienna Hofburg. Air Belgium seeks buyer for cargo and passenger operations – future of employees uncertain

Air Belgium is going through a tense phase of looking for investors to sell its cargo and passenger flight divisions after the airline stopped its own passenger service. Five potential investors are currently negotiating, three of which are showing greater interest, according to L'Echo. However, none of the potential buyers wants to take over both divisions, which is why a division of the divisions seems likely. The deadline for submitting offers has been extended to November 8, 2024. Particularly affected by the uncertain future are the airline's approximately 400 employees, including 150 flight attendants, who are at risk of economic unemployment until December. The situation for the workforce is critical, as the company had previously announced that it would find a solution to continue operations by October, but this was not kept. Meanwhile, Air Belgium continues to operate cargo services with four aircraft for customers such as Air France and DHL. However, the only remaining passenger aircraft has already been returned to the lessor after the last flight from New York to Warsaw was operated. The increasing financial difficulties mean that many employees are already looking for other job opportunities.

With this decision, Sweden is the first country in Northern Europe and the sixth European NATO member to rely on the versatile transport aircraft. The choice of the C-390, which is characterized by high mission capability and reliability, supports Sweden's goal of strengthening defence capabilities in an increasingly tense geopolitical situation. The C-390 Millennium offers flexibility for a wide range of tasks, including troop and cargo transport, medical evacuation and logistical support. It is already in service in countries such as Brazil and South Korea, where it has been field-tested with an operating rate of over 93 percent and high reliability. Embraer's long-term partnership with Sweden is further strengthened by this order and includes extensive synergies in training and logistics, which should also improve interoperability with other NATO countries.
