Summer flight schedule 2025: 14 destinations from Innsbruck

A total of 14 sunny destinations will be served directly from Innsbruck next summer, including popular destinations in Italy, France, Greece, Spain and Turkey. The resumption of non-stop flights to Antalya is a special innovation and signals the expansion of the route network into the eastern Mediterranean. The list of summer destinations reads like a travel catalog for sun-hungry vacationers: from the Greek islands of Crete, Kos, Rhodes and Karpathos to Italian Sardinia to the Spanish Balearic island of Mallorca and the French Mediterranean island of Corsica. New to the program is Antalya, which TUI Austria will fly to regularly every Friday from May 23, 2025. This expansion of the offer makes it clear that Innsbruck Airport is not only a gateway to the classic travel destinations of the western Mediterranean, but also a connection to the holiday regions further east. Greece remains one of the most popular travel destinations. For destinations such as Crete, Lefkas/Epiros and Kalamata, there is even the option of flying several times a week, which allows for more flexible travel times. Early booking offers and extended options With the official flight schedule change on March 30, 2025, early booking promotions will also start in local travel agencies. For many Tyroleans, these programs offer attractive price advantages, especially for family holidays. Single seat bookings are also possible, which is particularly interesting for individual travellers. The airport's long-standing partners, including TUI Austria, Idealtours, Rhomberg Reisen, Christophorus Reisen and Stoll Reisen, ensure that a wide selection of holiday packages and individual booking options remain available. The close cooperation with these partners shows the strong regional anchoring of Innsbruck Airport in the tourism market. Scheduled flights: International connections

Spirit Airlines and the challenge of the A321neo transaction

The US low-cost airline Spirit Airlines is facing a crucial phase of its restructuring as part of the Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. The focus of current developments is a sale and leaseback transaction (SLB) for four Airbus A321neo aircraft, which the airline is to receive between December 2024 and April 2025. The transaction is of key importance to secure urgently needed liquidity and ensure the continuation of flight operations. On December 10, 2024, Spirit Airlines applied to the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York to approve the SLB transaction. The very next day, the court agreed to an expedited hearing, which is now scheduled for December 17. Spirit Airlines argues that this urgency is necessary to ensure the financing and processing of the aircraft purchases in a timely manner. The airline emphasized that the transaction would take place under normal business conditions. Nevertheless, court approval is necessary to ensure transparency for contractual partners and security in the bankruptcy proceedings. The first of the four aircraft, an Airbus A321neo with the manufacturer serial number (MSN) 12324, is scheduled to be delivered on December 19. Liquidity through sale and leaseback The planned SLB transaction will enable Spirit Airlines to sell the aircraft to the lessor Jackson Square Aviation (JSA) and then lease them back on a long-term basis. This will provide the airline with much-needed liquidity by converting large upfront payments for the purchase into monthly lease payments. If the transaction does not go through, Spirit Airlines would be forced to pay for the aircraft in full, which would amount to a double-digit million amount. This burden could significantly jeopardize the restructuring efforts. Airbus, the manufacturer of the aircraft, has so far not agreed to a

Burgas Airport: Runway to be renovated, six-month closure announced

Fraport Twin Star Airport Management has announced that it will close Burgas Airport for six months in winter 2025/26 to carry out a comprehensive renovation of the runway. The runway, which was built in 1962 and modernized in 1980, requires a complete overhaul for safety reasons. In addition to the renovation of the runway, the investment of around 50 million euros includes measures such as drainage, lighting and work on the platform areas. In order not to affect summer traffic in 2025, the work will be carried out exclusively in the winter months. Three weeks of maintenance work are planned as early as March 2025 to prepare the airport for the peak travel season. Fraport emphasizes that since the start of the concession in 2006, over 110 million euros have been invested in infrastructure projects at Burgas Airport to ensure long-term operational safety and attractiveness.
