Edelweiss modernizes aircraft design – First aircraft landed in new paint scheme

The Swiss airline Edelweiss is beginning to gradually adapt its aircraft fleet to a modernized design. The changeover is taking place as new Airbus A350s are introduced into the fleet and is to be completed over several years during regular maintenance cycles. On Saturday evening, an Airbus A320 (HB-JJL), the first aircraft in the new livery, landed in Zurich. The aircraft was previously repainted in Norwich, Great Britain. The modernized design retains key elements of the previous design, including the characteristic red nose and the stylized edelweiss flower on the tail fin. A new feature is the changed lines, which extend the red color further across the aircraft fuselage, creating a more dynamic appearance. The tail fin remains a striking identifying feature, but now shows the edelweiss flower with finer contours. The adjustment of the external appearance is intended to improve the visual harmony within the entire fleet. Edelweiss wants to create a more uniform brand image, particularly with regard to the introduction of the new Airbus A350. The Airbus A320 fleet will be gradually converted to the new design, with the timeframe aligned with the aircraft's maintenance schedules.
