KLM launches new flight connection between Ljubljana and Amsterdam

Since April 1, 2025, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has been connecting Ljubljana with Amsterdam for the first time. The Dutch airline is thus expanding its offerings at Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport and creating a direct connection to Schiphol International Airport. Representatives of the airport, the airline, and the Dutch ambassador to Slovenia were present to welcome the first flight. The new connection is intended to provide business travelers and tourists in particular with better connections to KLM's global route network. From the Amsterdam Schiphol hub, there are onward flights to 161 international destinations. Flights depart daily from Ljubljana at 12:35 p.m., while the return flight from Amsterdam begins at 10:15 a.m. The new route could also be important for travelers from southern Austria, as Ljubljana Airport offers an easily accessible alternative to larger Austrian airports for some regions. Frontier excludes passenger due to medical device

A recent incident involving Frontier Airlines has sparked a debate about how airlines handle medical devices on board. A passenger who relies on a portable defibrillator device was barred from her flight, even though the device is approved for aviation use. The case is not only causing outrage but also raising questions about the consistency and transparency of airline regulations. On March 31, Tonya Roehl, a Frontier Airlines passenger, and her husband were barred from a flight from Houston to Phoenix. The reason: their wearable cardiac defibrillator, which they require due to a recently diagnosed heart condition. The device, a wearable cardiac defibrillator (WCD), monitors the wearer's heart activity and can deliver electrical impulses to regulate heart rhythm in an emergency. The manufacturer, Zoll Medical, confirms that the device is approved for aviation use and that patients can wear it safely on the plane. According to reports, Roehl had declared her device both when booking and at the airport during check-in and security screening. Despite this, the crew on board prohibited her from carrying the device, arguing that it was not on the list of approved medical equipment. Inconsistent regulations and uncertainty in handling medical equipment. What is particularly controversial about this case is that Roehl offered to remove the device's batteries to eliminate potential safety concerns. But even this was refused by the crew. The reason given was that the device could not be carried without batteries. The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and

Condor introduces new fare options for short- and long-haul flights

Condor has revised its fare structure and introduced new options for travelers. The adjustments primarily affect hand luggage regulations, flexible rebooking options, and various fare classes. The airline is thus responding to changing customer needs, particularly for its new city connections. Passengers who book a city flight with the Economy Light fare will in future be allowed to bring one piece of hand luggage and one small bag on board at no additional charge. On other short-, medium-, and long-haul routes, Condor will continue to offer the cheaper Economy Zero fare, which only allows one small bag without additional hand luggage. This differentiation is intended to meet customers' different price and comfort needs. Another change concerns booking flexibility. The previous flexible fares are now being replaced by a uniform Flex fare, which allows customers to rebook or cancel their flight free of charge up to 24 hours before departure. The refunded amount will be automatically transferred back to the original payment method. In addition, frequent business travelers can receive a voucher upon cancellation under the new Green Fare fare, which can be used for a new booking within ten months. The new rates apply immediately to all single-seat bookings and are available through all sales channels. Existing bookings retain the terms and conditions applicable at the time of booking.
