Numerous airlines are currently negotiating with Airbus, Boeing and other manufacturers about delaying delivery dates or even cancellations. Wizzair takes a completely different approach and prefers to take over Airbus jets.

Company boss Jozsef Varadi told Bloomberg News that five Airbus A321neo more than originally planned will be taken over in the coming year. The group leases all aircraft and, according to Deputy CEO Stephen Jones, does not own a single machine.

Wizzair can take over capacities that other airlines are not using due to delays. Bloomberg suspects that the Hungarian low-cost airline was made attractive terms by Airbus. 30 Airbus A321neo are to be taken over in the coming year.
