60 student pilots can continue their training at FlyBy

For 120 trainees at a British flight school, the dream of flying seemed to be over. Because the Academy had to close due to the precarious financial situation triggered by the corona pandemic. About half of the aviation enthusiasts are now getting an apprenticeship position after all: The Spanish flying school FlyBy accepts them.

The corona crisis is raging across the aviation industry. Few are thinking about training as a pilot at the moment. Because the last thing an airline needs now is additional pilots. FlyBy doesn't seem to mind: The Spanish Academy opens a second base in northern Spain - and takes 30 of the dismissed cadets in for the time being. Another 30 are expected to join next month.

The new location has two runways, each 1,4 kilometers and 500 meters in length, and is located in the autonomous region of Castile-Léon.
