The longest suspension bridge in the world was opened on May 13, 2022 in the Czech town of Dolni Morava. This is 721 meters long and is called "Sky Bridge 721". It is a pedestrian bridge.
Currently, this can only be used in one direction and is subject to a charge. For safety reasons, the Sky Bridge 721 may only be used at wind speeds of up to 72 km/h. It connects the Slamnik and Chlum mountain ridges. The average height is 95 meters.
To get to the Sky Bridge you have to take a chairlift to the height of 1.110 meters. You leave the bridge at an altitude of 1.116 meters. As already mentioned: Entry is currently only permitted one-way, so that you have to look for another way for a possible return journey.
The structure was built from private funds and is part of the Mountain Resort Dolní Morava. This is located in the Pardubický Kraj near the border with Poland. Since 2015 there has been a 55 meter high skywalk near the Sky Bridge.
