While the US aviation authority has already granted the re-approval and EASA boss Patrick Ky recently stated that it will also happen in Europe, China is holding back when it comes to Boeing 737-Max. For the time being, you don't even think about letting this pattern take off again.
The CAAC stated that the two fatal accidents must first be fully resolved and the investigations completed. The Chinese also demand that all pilots have to be retrained and, in particular, fully trained on this model. According to the CAAC, there should not be a “political background”.
The Chinese aviation authority also indicated that the FAA's re-approval is believed to be “too early” as investigations into the two crashes have not yet been completed. The actual cause of the two total losses has not yet been determined and therefore, for security reasons, it was decided to wait for the results. From this it can be deduced that it will take some time before operators from the Middle Kingdom are allowed to use the Boeing 737-Max machines or foreign operators can use this type from / to China.
