For the 75th anniversary of Zurich Airport, the history of Switzerland's largest international transport hub was digitally processed. Various multimedia elements can be found on the website, including real pearls from 75 years of airport history, such as the visit of Queen Elizabeth II at the opening of the station or of Pope John Paul II.

Exactly 77 years ago today, on May 5, 1946, Zurich's electorate voted "yes" with a large majority to the loan for the construction of today's Zurich Airport, thereby laying the foundation for Switzerland's largest national airport. Two years later, in 1948, Zurich Airport was officially opened and is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.

In extensive work, Zurich Airport has now opened its archive, digitized it and amade accessible on a multimedia website. This digital memory contains numerous photos and videos of formative events, construction projects and personalities from all decades. Users can easily navigate through the years using the timeline and filter posts by aviation, operational or entrepreneurial topics.
