9H-EUL: Eurowings Europe Ltd. will base the first aircraft in Salzburg

The new airline Eurowings Europe Ltd. is expected to open in mid-October 2022. obtain their AOC and operating license. This is assumed by the carrier, a spokesman told Aviation.Direct. The first machine will be registered 9H-EUL and will be stationed in Salzburg.

Unlike its competitor, Wizz Air Malta, which made its maiden flight earlier this week, both AOC and OL have been applied for in Malta. The competitor flies under EASA-AOC and Maltese operating license. Eurowings Europe Ltd. will receive both documents from the Malta Civil Aviation Authority.

The first aircraft that the new Eurowings branch will operate is the Airbus A320 with the current registration D-ABDP (MSN: 3093). This will be registered in Malta's aviation register as 9H-EUL and will be based in Salzburg, Austria, a Eurowings spokesman told Aviation.Direct.

The question of how many aircraft Eurowings Europe Ltd. will be operated in the 2023 summer timetable, the media officer answered as follows: "We assume 20+ aircraft". For comparison: The Austrian Eurowings Europe GmbH, which will cease flight operations after the winter flight schedule 2022/23, currently has six Airbus A319 and 13 Airbus A320, i.e. a total of 19 aircraft.
