Maltese airline AllianceJet has joined the league of “big boys” and introduced the first Boeing 737-800 with the apt registration 9H-HANSA. The registration is a tribute to the company's Chairman and CEO, Hans Cauchi.

The company has hired former Air Malta captain Charles Palmier as a nominee for flight operations and crew training. The Boeing 737-800 was part of Miami Air International's fleet before joining AllianceJet in February 2022. The aircraft is leased from Aergo Capital and has 189 seats, although the company has plans to convert it into a 100-seat aircraft. The aircraft will initially be based in the MENA region and will fly for a number of well-known brokers.

The aircraft was photographed at Malta International Airport on apron 2 where it is due to be inspected by TM-CAD officers on February 26, 2022.
