The low-cost airline Air Japan will operate its first scheduled flights on February 9, 2024. In addition, ticket sales have been opened for the routes from Tokyo (Narita) to Bangkok and Seoul.

The parent company ANA presents Air Japan as a completely new airline with a start-up feeling. The company itself has had a kind of relaunch and now has its own identity, but it is not a new company. It has been operating on various routes on behalf of ANA for around 20 years.

In the future, Air Japan will be positioned in the market as a low-cost airline. With this, ANA particularly wants to counter Zipair, the low-coster from its competitor JAL. You can also feel the competition from foreign low-cost airlines like Scoot. The relaunch of the Air Japan brand also means that the previous ACMI provider will again be active on the market under its own identity.

Initially, low-cost flights will be offered from Japan to Asia and Oceania. The short-haul flights are to be served by the sister company Peach Aviation. Air Japan will initially operate an all-Boeing 787-8 fleet. These are purchased from the parent company All Nippon Airways.
