Airbus Defence and Space has presented the first series system of the Protected Casualty Transport Container (GVTC) as part of the information training exercise of the German Armed Forces Medical Service in Feldkirchen. The German Armed Forces will receive a total of 12 series containers and a demonstration model. These containers play a central role in medical evacuation and ensuring the care of the wounded in crisis areas.

The GVTC offers comprehensive medical care for up to eight patients and closes a significant capability gap within the Bundeswehr. The system can be deployed on mobile protected carrier vehicles and has protective measures against mines, explosions and ABC hazards. Delivery of the 12 systems is planned for 2024 to 2026.
