Airbus reports decline in aircraft deliveries at the beginning of 2025

Airbus has reported a lower delivery figure in January 2025, after setting an impressive pace of record-high deliveries at the end of 2024. According to aviation analyst Rob Morris of Cirium Ascend, around 22 aircraft were delivered in January, marking a significant decline from the 30 deliveries in January 2024. Such a lower figure is no surprise, however, as it is common for aircraft production to be quieter after the end of the year and the high number of deliveries in December.

In December 2024, Airbus had almost achieved its delivery targets, delivering 123 aircraft, bringing the total number of deliveries for the year to 766 aircraft. Most notably, 602 of this number were allocated to the popular A320neo model, which is considered the main product in the Airbus portfolio. The production pressure in December - with an average delivery rate of four aircraft per day - helped Airbus to almost meet the target.

The decline in deliveries at the beginning of 2025 could also be explained by seasonal factors and a lower production rate at the beginning of the year. However, Airbus has continuously increased production capacity in recent years and it remains to be expected that the manufacturer will increase its production targets again later in the year.
