The European aircraft manufacturer Airbus is building a new center in Bremen that will specialize in fire protection. This is expected to open in the second half of 2025.

It will consist of a total of six fire laboratories. In these, Airbus wants to research how hydrogen-powered aircraft can be protected in terms of fire protection. The work carried out in Bremen is intended to advance the development of such machines. It is currently assumed that the first hydrogen-powered Airbus aircraft will be put into service in 2035.
