Allianz Travel Insurance introduces new tariff generation

Advertising

Allianz Partners, a global provider of insurance and assistance services, launched a new generation of tariffs for Allianz Travel Insurance on June 3, 2025. With the new Smart and Premium product lines, the company is responding to changing customer needs and offering customized solutions at attractive prices and comprehensive coverage.

The new Smart and Premium product lines replace the previous offerings and are aimed at different customer segments. The Smart travel cancellation protection replaces the previous basic coverage and now also includes trip interruption insurance. For customers with a higher need for security, the Premium travel cancellation protection is available as the successor to the full coverage. The Smart and Premium travel protection packages have also been introduced. These can be booked with or without travel health insurance and also cover your luggage.

As part of the further development, dynamic and risk-based pricing was implemented. This includes the introduction of seven age groups and additional travel price levels. Annual insurance can now cover travel costs of up to €20.000, a significant increase from the previous €12.000, to reflect price developments in the market. For individual travel insurance, factors such as booking period, season, trip duration, and the exact number of travelers are taken into account in the pricing. In addition, sales materials for travel agencies have been streamlined, and the language of the insurance terms and conditions has been revised to increase comprehensibility. A significant substantive improvement concerns the equal treatment of mental and physical illnesses in travel cancellation and interruption insurance, with the last treatment now permitted up to six months previously.
