The regional airline Skyalps has received the provisional contract to operate three domestic routes from Ancona. Aeroitalia had previously withdrawn and terminated the contract with the public sector.

From April 1, 2024, Skyalps will serve the destinations Rome-Fiumicino, Naples and Milan-Linate from Ancona with de Havilland Dash 8-400. It will go to the capital every day, to Naples twice a week and to Linate 12 times a week.

This is a kind of temporary emergency award, as the selection process for the corresponding tender is currently running at the same time. The contract has therefore been temporarily awarded to Skyalps until May 15, 2024. According to reports, the interest of other providers will be kept within very narrow limits, which is why it is to be expected that Skyalps will prevail.

Aeroitalia has discontinued both its subsidized and its own routes from Ancona. You only flew a few circuits to Vienna before had to be discontinued due to lack of demand. From Ancona, ATR72-600s from the Romanian subsidiary Air Connect were mainly used.
