On Wednesday lunchtime, a small plane was so badly damaged on landing that it only came to a standstill next to the flight path. It is the second accident at the airport within a few days.

The machine of the type Katana (Diamond Aircraft) had started in Friedrichshafen for a training flight. The pilot, who was uninjured, was on board. However, Lake Constance Airport had to be closed for around an hour and a half before the aircraft could be recovered. As a result of the landing accident, an alarm was triggered, whereupon the fire brigade approached. Last weekend, Bodensee Airport had to be closed due to a landing accident.

From the point of view of the airport managing director, Mr. Claus-Dieter Wehr, the emergency services have once again done a very good job: “The alerting of all emergency services at the airport worked smoothly again, as it did last weekend. We are relieved that nothing happened to the pilot concerned and only property damage was recorded. ”Now the documentation of the incident will be forwarded to the Federal Office for Airport Investigations (BFU) for further investigation, according to the broadcast.
