The South Korean airline Asiana Airlines will operate the last passenger flight with Boeing 2024-747 in March 400. The HL7428 has been part of the carrier's fleet since 1999, which is to be merged with competitor Korean Air.

This eliminates another B747 operator in the passenger area. However, the four-jet aircraft will not disappear completely at Asiana, because in the cargo sector they continue to rely on jumbo jets. There are no plans to phase out this pattern yet.

Asiana Airlines announced that the last B747 passenger flight will operate on March 25, 2024. In the next few weeks, the HL7428 will mainly be used between Seoul and Taipei. The carrier announced on social media: “The last B747-400 passenger aircraft in Korea. The Queen of the Sky B747 began operations in 1999. We are preparing to say goodbye after a long flight”.

The company is currently also offering 30 percent discounted tickets for flights operated with this pattern. The aim is to enable those interested to fly (once again) with the “Queen of the Sky”.
