Immediately after the announcement by Germany's Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) that the Federal Republic of negative corona tests are required, the Austrian Ministry of Health followed suit.

In the future, the Alpine republic will require that airlines are only allowed to transport passengers from the People's Republic of China to Austria who can show a negative corona test. The Ministry of Health confirmed on request that the corresponding adjustment of the regulation is currently being prepared. Take this measure in addition to wastewater monitoring.

Italy, France and Spain had initially announced or already implemented that travelers who had previously been to China would need a negative corona test or undergo a test upon entry. Germany, Sweden, Belgium and Austria have now announced that their governments will follow suit.
