The food wholesaler Metro is entering the rapid antigen test business in Austria. Free tests are offered at the Wiener Neustadt, Vösendorf, Dornbirn and Langenzersdorf locations. This will also be done shortly in Linz, Innsbruck, Graz and Klagenfurt.
The test roads are set up as part of the federally funded operational tests. These are open to both employees and customers of the wholesaler and are free of charge. According to Metro, the swab should be taken by medical professionals. If the antigen test turns out negative, a confirmation is sent, which can also be used, for example, to access hairdressers or to enter countries that recognize antigen findings.
“Since the outbreak of the pandemic, METRO has made massive efforts to ensure the safety, protection and health of its employees and customers. In addition, all employees at all twelve locations have been offered quick tests since last December. With the establishment of the test roads, we are now helping to identify risks and thus making a further contribution to society, ”says Metro Austria boss Xavier Plotitza.
