Austrian Airlines has announced changes to its long-haul connections to North America from Vienna for the 2025/26 winter flight schedule.

From October 26, 2025, the Boeing 787-9 will replace the Boeing 767-300ER and 777-200ER models currently in use on the routes to Boston and Montreal. The two routes will each be served three times a week. This is part of a broader fleet modernization aimed at increasing efficiency and improving travel comfort for passengers.

In addition, Austrian Airlines will continue to use the 26-30ER on the route to Newark between October 2025 and November 777, 200, before the 787-9 takes over this route. The connection to Washington-Dulles will remain the only North American route to be equipped with the 767-300ER and will be flown daily. With this fleet adjustment, Austrian Airlines is strengthening its presence on the North American market and adjusting capacities to seasonal demand. Aeroroutes.com was the first to report on the upcoming changes.
