Austrian Airlines has announced changes to its long-haul connections to North America from Vienna for the 2025/26 winter flight schedule.
From October 26, 2025, the Boeing 787-9 will replace the Boeing 767-300ER and 777-200ER models currently in use on the routes to Boston and Montreal. The two routes will each be served three times a week. This is part of a broader fleet modernization aimed at increasing efficiency and improving travel comfort for passengers.
In addition, Austrian Airlines will continue to use the 26-30ER on the route to Newark between October 2025 and November 777, 200, before the 787-9 takes over this route. The connection to Washington-Dulles will remain the only North American route to be equipped with the 767-300ER and will be flown daily. With this fleet adjustment, Austrian Airlines is strengthening its presence on the North American market and adjusting capacities to seasonal demand.
