Austrian Airlines will again offer flights to and from Tel Aviv from February 1, 2025. This will take place after careful examination of the current situation and in coordination with the Lufthansa Group. Israeli airspace will be used again from this point onwards, and Swiss will also start daily flights from Zurich to Tel Aviv from February. The flights to Tel Aviv will be operated with a short-haul aircraft from the Airbus A320 family. Initially, the flight is planned without a night stop for the crews.

The airlines of the Lufthansa Group had previously suspended their flights to Tehran and the use of Iranian airspace until January 31, 2025. This measure has now been extended to February 14. Flights to Beirut also remain suspended and Lebanon's airspace will continue to be avoided.

The decision to resume flight operations to Tel Aviv follows a thorough analysis of the security situation in the Middle East. Swiss and the Lufthansa Group have agreed to carefully reinstate the region into their flight schedules, taking the current political situation into account.
