In the future, the Avolta Group will operate 17 catering establishments in Terminals 1 and 2 at Cologne/Bonn Airport under the Autogrill brand. According to a media statement, the total area is around 3.800 square meters.

The first renovation work will begin in the summer. The opening of some currently unrented areas is planned for autumn 2024 after their renovation, and further new shops will gradually open. By the end of the year, most of the space will have been handed over to the new operator. Thanks to the new contractual partnership, the gastronomic offering will be even larger and more diverse for the numerous guests at the airport in the future.

“The new partnership with Avolta is a milestone and will permanently change the face of the airport,” says Thilo Schmid, CEO of Flughafen Köln Bonn GmbH on the occasion of the signing of the contract. “The versatile concepts for a total of 17 dining areas are part of a completely new retail dining concept in the terminals, with a distinctive regional reference to our location. We are proud to have won Autogrill Deutschland GmbH as a new partner for the airport as part of a Europe-wide tender process under the umbrella of the globally active Avolta AG, whose innovative plans best reflect our idea for the future design of our airport.”
