For almost seven years now, a Boeing 757 that was used by the defunct Equatorial Congo Airlines has been sitting at Brussels-Zaventem Airport. The airport has now confirmed to the “Belgra” agency that the plane will be scrapped in the next few weeks.

For years, the airport was unable to take care of removing the plane, which once belonged to the bankrupt airline, because the jet was confiscated by the authorities. A solution has now been found and the company Eco-Fly, which specializes in the recycling or scrapping of aircraft, has bought it. According to an airport spokesman, dismantling will begin in the next few weeks.
