The Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Bahrain has taken a pioneering step to expand the capabilities of its law enforcement and emergency services. In a multi-million-euro contract with the European aerospace group Airbus, the purchase of nine state-of-the-art H145 helicopters has been agreed. The aircraft will be used in a variety of missions, from police operations to emergency medical services, and will strengthen Bahrain's position as a technologically well-equipped player in the region.

The Interior Ministry's decision is no coincidence. With its innovative five-blade rotor, which increases the payload by 150 kilograms, and its versatility, the H145 is one of the most powerful and flexible helicopters in its class. There are more than 1.700 machines of this type in use worldwide, which have already completed over eight million flight hours.

versatility and technical excellence

The H145 offers a remarkable range of mission possibilities. The helicopter's configurations allow the transport of up to ten soldiers or nine members of SWAT teams. For police operations, the machine can also be equipped with workstations for operators to better coordinate operations on the ground. This modularity makes the H145 an indispensable tool for law enforcement, military purposes and emergency services.

Powered by two Safran Arriel 2E engines, the H145 features an advanced digital control system called FADEC (Full Authority Digital Engine Control). This technology ensures optimal engine performance while reducing the workload for the pilots. A 4-axis autopilot also ensures stability and increases safety during flights.

Olivier Michalon, Executive Vice President for Global Business at Airbus Helicopters, stressed the strategic importance of the contract: "We are very proud that the Bahrain Ministry of Interior has decided to become a new member of the global H145 community. The versatility of this model makes it an indispensable tool for public safety and a variety of other missions."

significance for Bahrain and the region

The acquisition of the helicopters marks another milestone for Bahrain, which has invested heavily in modern technologies in recent years to strengthen its infrastructure and security forces. The Middle East is a growing market for aviation solutions, and more than 60 H145 aircraft are already in service in the region for energy, emergency services and law enforcement missions.

The introduction of the new fleet will not only enable Bahrain to improve its emergency response capabilities but also strengthen its presence in the region. With advanced equipment such as the H145, the Kingdom is able to meet the diverse challenges of the modern security landscape.

Airbus: A reliable partner

The success of the H145 is a testament to the innovative strength of Airbus Helicopters. With a combination of state-of-the-art technology, reliability and flexibility, the manufacturer has established itself as a leading provider of light helicopters. This is also reflected in the global demand for the H145, which has proven its strength in a wide range of missions - from civil aviation to military operations.

Bahrain's decision to choose Airbus is another success for the company and underlines its leading role in the global helicopter market.
