Nuremberg Airport will be the setting for an entire episode of the popular Bavarian television show "Bezzel & Schwarz – Die Grenzgänger." On Monday, May 26, 2025, at 20:15 p.m., viewers can accompany actors Simon Schwarz and Sebastian Bezzel as they explore the diverse processes and work areas of an airport. The episode will be available in the ARD media library starting May 9, 2025.

In the show, the two well-known actors delve into the complex world of airline operations. They learn about the challenges of check-in and boarding from Mirella Baronetti, and are guided through the waiting areas by Andrea Dünser. Ramp agent Markus Schreiter takes the "border crossers" to the airfield, where they observe aircraft refueling and loading. They are amazed at the speed with which a large passenger aircraft is cleaned and resupplied. Schwarz and Bezzel experience the physically demanding work of baggage service with Matthias Reubel as they load numerous suitcases, testing a new, assistive high-tech device. Other stops on their exploration include security checks, customs, and the ADAC air ambulances.

The show featuring Bezzel and Schwarz at Nuremberg Airport is part of a series in which the two friends, known from the Eberhofer crime series, regularly visit unusual places and take a look behind the scenes. In previous episodes, they explored the Bavarian State Opera, the Munich Wholesale Market Hall, and Neuschwanstein Castle. The new season, which will air on Bavarian television from May 12, 2025, includes a total of four new episodes.
