Boeing misses production target for 737 Max

Boeing will not meet its production target for the 737 Max for the time being. According to a Reuters report, the 737 Max's monthly production rate, which was originally scheduled to rise to 2024 aircraft by September 42, will not return to that level until March 2025.

The aviation group has informed its key suppliers of this delay. The reason for this is quality defects that have led to the US aviation authority FAA restricting the scope for production increases. Boeing is initially not allowed to exceed the rate of 42 aircraft per month.

The delay affects the company's bread-and-butter program, which plays a central role in aircraft production. The FAA has given Boeing clear requirements to improve production quality before approving a rate increase.
