The partnership between Borussia Dortmund and Eurowings is reaching new heights as this year's Champions League finalist and Germany's largest holiday airline have decided to extend their long-standing collaboration for another two years.

The two companies have been cooperating successfully since 2016, and now an Airbus A320 aircraft redesigned in Borussia Dortmund's club colors will accompany the club to numerous away games in the UEFA Champions League and Bundesliga starting next season. This "team Airbus 2.0" is set to return to the Eurowings fleet at the start of 2025, in time for the BVB professionals' next attack on Europe's football throne - and in a new, exciting design.

The first version of the team Airbus, which was unveiled in July 2016, caused a stir far beyond the football scene. The completely black and yellow BVB Airbus was a real highlight every time it arrived at an airport and was at times the most photographed aircraft in Europe. At the end of 2022, the jet had to receive a new livery due to a “change of club” from Eurowings to Lufthansa, which led to a temporary break for the team Airbus. Nevertheless, BVB and Eurowings continued to fly together. In 2022, Eurowings was the first airline in the world to dedicate its own aircraft to football fans: The fan Airbus - an A320 jet in a special black and yellow livery - has since been transporting BVB supporters to all sporting destinations in Europe.

"BVB and Eurowings - it's a perfect fit," explains Eurowings CEO Jens Bischof. "Just like Borussia, Eurowings also has its roots in Dortmund. We share the sporting ambition of wanting to be among the best in our field in Europe. And both partners are now among the most emotional and popular brands in their industry. We are all the more pleased to be able to continue to accompany and inspire the Borussia Dortmund success story."

BVB Managing Director Carsten Cramer added: "We are delighted about the extension of our long-standing partnership. Starting next season, the team Airbus 2.0 will not only take our professionals to Bundesliga and Champions League games, but, like its predecessor, will also be a popular photo opportunity for fans across Europe."

In addition to the extension of the partnership with the BVB professionals, the cooperation with the BVB women, which has existed since 2022, will also continue. Eurowings will continue to present itself as a training and warm-up wear partner for the women's teams.

The close bond between Borussia Dortmund and Eurowings not only lifts the aircraft into the sky, but also symbolizes the bond between two brands that are not only based on success, but also on shared values and a strong home base.
