Brussels Airport has welcomed the first flight from Tuifly Belgium to Curaçao with a solemn ceremony. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner with the registration PH-TFL took off with a water salute and marks the start of the new connection, which flies twice a week from Brussels to Curaçao, with a stopover in Punta Cana on the outbound flight and a direct return flight.

The new route responds to the increasing demand for Caribbean destinations and allows Belgian travellers access to the tropical island known for its history and the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Willemstad. TUI Belgium offers 34 selected hotels ranging from luxury resorts to intimate accommodations. Managing Director Arjan Kers explained that Curaçao is particularly attractive to Dutch-speaking travellers due to cultural ties and the warm climate. Arnaud Feist, CEO of Brussels Airport, highlighted the importance of this new route in improving intercontinental connections.

The flights are intended to make it a popular destination for Belgian holidaymakers, especially during the winter months.
