The Chamber of Labor (AK) Upper Austria In collaboration with an expert, the company tested seven buggies in the price category between 60 and 166 euros. The focus was primarily on driving ability, stability, and workmanship. The overall test winner was the Baby CAB Buggy Milan The award was given to the company, which achieved good to excellent ratings in all categories. The selected models were deliberately placed in the lower price segment, as these models are more frequently used for travel.
In the roadworthiness tests, all models achieved excellent results on the treadmill. Overcoming an 18-centimeter-high edge proved more difficult. Here, only the Chicco London UP and Maxi-Cosi Lara 2 the top grade “Very good”. ABC Design Treviso 4 achieved the lowest rating in this category, scoring "Satisfactory." All buggies also achieved "Very Good" or "Good" ratings in the "Stability" category. This test was carried out with a loaded vehicle on a ramp with a gradient of approximately 12 percent.
None of the models achieved a "Very Good" rating for frame workmanship. The Maxi Cosi Lara 2 and the Baby CAB Milan buggy received the highest ratings of "Good." The Chicco London UP received a "Unsatisfactory" rating in this category, which the testers attributed to the lack of padding in the seat belts. All buggies were easy to assemble within five minutes following the included instructions, which had a positive impact on handling.
All tested models come with a sunshade and a footrest as accessories. A rain cover is only included with the Chicco London UP. The test shows that even less expensive models can offer good quality and safety.
